Installation of 8 x Ultra HD IP System
Normal Set-Up
One way of setting up your system, is to run all of the cameras from one place in your house and not from the attic - as you can see in the diagram below.
All you have to do, is decide in which room you will set up your system. This includes the NVR, Gigabyte Switch, PoE Switch, Monitor (optional) and access (or a cable) to connect the system to your router.
Your router does not have to be the same room as your system, but if you want to be able to view this system on your phone or elsewhere in the building via the internet, you must have a cable connecting your router to the Gigabyte Switch.
The advantages of running your system this way are: everything is in an accessible point, and connections can be checked easily.
The dsadvantages are: more cable is used and more time is spent laying cabling.
Attic Set-Up
The below diagram shows an alternative way to set up a 8 Camera IP System in your home by running your camera cables and PoE switch all from your attic.
First, you will need to choose a room in your home, where you would like the NVR and monitor (optional) to go.
In this room there needs to be access, or a cable, in order to connect the NVR to your router. Your router does not have to be the same room as your system, but if you want to be able to view this CCTV system on your phone or elsewhere via the internet you must have a cable connecting your router to the your NVR.
The advantages of running your system this way are: it uses less cable, less time is spent laying cable, and the cables can be hidden in beams.
The disadvantages are: the PoE Switch is out of reach and connections are hard to reach.
