Which Format of CCTV is Best For Me?
Lets start with not what to buy.
Old analogue CCTV or CVBS as it is also know as is dead, so do not buy any CCTV cameras that refer to CCD image processors or 600TVL or 700TVL or in the spec have resolutions lower then 1280 x 720 pixels. Do not buy any DVRS that refer to CIF, D1 or 960H (960 x 576 resolution as a maximum) recording resolution. Please ensure that your are buying AHD, CVI, TVI, HD-SDI or Mega Pixel IP, if none of these are mentioned in the spec than it is more than likely old CVBS technology.
Re Remote Viewing either on your PC or Mobile device.
Some people are under the impression you have to have IP cameras to do this. This is completely untrue. All types of CCTV AHD, TVI, CVI, HD-SDI and IP will do this very easily.
Upgrading an existing old analogue CVBS CCTV System.
IF you are going to do away with all your existing CCTV equipment then you can basically go with want ever technology you want. If you wish to upgrade your existing old analogue CCTV system a bit at a time the you will need to use either, AHD or TVI formats.
